Types of UPVC Door Handles

Lever/Lever

However, levers don't create energy. They simply multiply the force you exert by making a small amount effort across a large distance into a larger amount of force applied over a smaller distance. This allows you to accomplish more in a shorter amount of time, which is why levers are commonly used to lift heavy objects or moving large quantities of cargo. This is also the reason behind the levers you find in a variety of everyday tools such as crowbars, fishing rods, hammer claws and even your own legs when you stand on the hand brake of your vehicle.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles, also known as upvc door handles feature levers on both sides to operate the multipoint locks. These come in many variations and finishes and are suitable for a range of materials including UPVC, Aluminium & Timber doors. They are sold in pairs for the outer and inner door handle replacements with spindles & screws included. They are available both hand- and non-handled versions to accommodate different types of users.

They can be used to replace window handles an existing doors made of upvc. The levers are lifted to open all the multipoint locks, and the key is turned to lock or close the door. They provide a bit more security than the standard lever handles for doors, as the locking can only be done through the inside with keys.

They're not as secure as a cylinder bolt however they are a reasonable alternative for a home with more security. The only drawback is that they do not offer the same level of protection as a cylinder bolt, and therefore don't stop external access in the event that the door has been left open.

This kind of handle can also be put in for doors in the interior, like those in bedrooms where you want to restrict outside access.

In some instances, snib buttons can cause issues, especially in the case of doors and Doorgaan locks that are warped. If the snib button was accidentally pressed by someone who isn't familiar with it, the door could shut and lock you out. It is possible to gain entry by knocking the door frame or letterbox. But this isn't the best option.

This kind of operation requires the internal lever handle and the external pad handle to be fitted on the same lock case. This could be a straightforward modification to the existing uPVC handles, but it could also involve changing the lock case or even a new set of handle furniture to allow for this added functionality.

These levers/movable pad door handles are suitable for uPVC doors. They feature an easy to maintain slide bearing, fixing lugs and spring cassettes provided. They have a euro profile cut out and are fitted to a variety of uPVC and timber doors.

The lever moveable pad is available in various styles to match a wide variety of multipoint locks. They are specifically designed to be used with split spindle locks with a centre cylinder of 92mm and require a specific set of split spindles provided by the manufacturer of the lock.

Lever/Moveable Snib

The lever handles are one of the most commonly used kinds of upvc door handles. They are available in a variety of designs. It consists of two inline handles that move and can be locked with either a key or a thumbturn cylinder inside. A pad handle is an alternative to a lever/lever handle and consists of a fixed or movable pad that can be used to operate the lock. These Fullex handles are sprung lever pads that have a snib that can be triggered to secure the latch.
